​PAINTINGS

    This series was created for my daughter. Every image in these paintings is drawn from the things she loves or the objects and creatures that have sparked her curiosity.

    I chose acrylic paint markers because they are the drawing tools she knows best—simple, vivid, and inseparable from the spirit of childhood. Since she was very young, she has loved coloring. She carefully fills every shape with color, never crossing the lines or leaving empty spaces.

    Sometimes I invite her to join me and color parts of a painting. Whenever a work is finished, she is always the first person I show it to. I ask whether she recognizes the images and whether she likes them. Watching her delight in these paintings reminds me that perhaps this is the gentlest meaning of making art.
