Born and raised in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, and currently based in Beijing, ZHOU Quan is a Chinese filmmaker commuting between East Asia and North America.
Zhou Quan holds a Bachelor of Communication (Media) from Australia’s RMIT University and a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from the American Film Institute. He is also a directing alumnus of Berlinale Talents and Taipei Golden Horse Film Academy.
Zhou Quan’s debut feature End of Summer (2017) won KNN Award at 22nd Busan International Film Festival and HAF Award at 13th Hong Kong -Asia Film Financing Forum, and screened at various international film festivals such as Rome Alice nella Citta, Cinequest, Beijing IFF, Minsk IFF, Pingyao IFF, New York AFF, Hong Kong AFF, etc. At 2017 Tencent Video Awards, he was awarded "New Film Director of the Year".
Zhou Quan’s AFI thesis film Woman In Fragments (2014) won Special Jury Prize at China Short Film Academy Awards, Air Canada Short Film Award at Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival and Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short at Austin Asian American Film Festival, and screened at international festivals like Montreal, Hawaii and CAAMFest.
He co-founded Each Other Films with his producing partners in Los Angeles, Beijing and Taipei, and is currently developing his second project, Searching For The Silent Maiden, a mystery romantic drama series which was selected in 2016 Taipei Golden Horse Film Project Promotion.
